Though I enjoy many types of music, I tend to gravitate tward alturnative music. I dunno what it is, it is usually depressing. Or at least that is the type I gravitate tward. songs like Better Than Ezra - "A Lifetime"Blink 182 - "The Kids are Allright" Bravery - "Honest Mistakes" Garbage - "Only Happy When It Rains" etc.... Good stuff. Who else agrees?

I am also one of those rare blind folks who like active/alternative rock. The reason I say this is because a large number of the blind community that I've come in contact with seems to like oldies and country and even some contemporary Christian stuff. I think all of those types of music are just fine and obviously a lot of people like them, but for me, the active/alternative rock by bands like Staind, KoRn, Hoobastank, System of A Down, Disturbed, and Foo Fighters is the stuff I go for.

Well, the point really is that alternative is where the most interesting things are generally happening. People use the term often for up and coming music. I mean the bands mentioned in the first post are very very different music styles, the Bravery is very different from Blink. I like all kinds of music really, currently Elbow's new album is playing on repeat on my computer, but I guess "alternative" is my thing, never got into Gospell much and country is well, eehm, not what I grew up on although I am learning to appeciate it now, the lyrics are funny and some of the songs are good and the musicians are generally very tallented which is often not the case for the alternative crowd, there are bands there who barely know 3 chords, and somteimes they make good songs despite the fact which is inspiring.

I love Alternative music. But I am also the kind of person that is very eclectic in what I listen to, for instance, one minute, I could be listening to Seether, then I will listen to something a little more gothic like Cradle of Filth or evanescence. Then, I will totally change directions and here some Kelly Clarkson. I feel that since I am a musician, I have to learn to appreciate all the music that we have to offer, and so that is what I try to do.

I adore Alternative music Marilyn Manson, Mortiis, Sopor Aeternus, As She Cries. Hmm Jess COF are not Gothic, they are a rather poor example of black metal, sadly the 2 are often confused.

My main tastes are alternative, hardcore, heavy metal, Indie, punk, and emo... my favorite bands are ones like Beloved, Demon Hunter, Emery, Autre, Underoath, Subseve...I like some Christian and some not. I also like country and some live praise and worship but real instruments please! LOL. I also lke a few slow sapy latino songs, and a few rap, but that's about it.
